ONE BRONTE~One Voice

One Bronte~One Voice is a community-driven, grassroots coalition of residents, historians, business leaders, community organizations, religious leaders, retail operators and others who have come together to make a difference.

 

Our focus is the preservation and enhancement of liveability in the Village of Bronte. We strive to create positive outcomes through collaborative work, advocacy and dialogue with all levels of government, neighbouring communities, local conservation authorities and other interested community stakeholders who share our desire for the special place we call home.

Apart from the importance Bronte holds in the minds of its local residents, our village also delivers significant liveability benefits to citizens across Oakville. Bronte is Oakville's much-loved playground. Visitors from across our town come to Bronte to enjoy the outdoors, our special events and our unique sense of community. Our waterfront, Bronte Heritage Park, Bronte Beach, inner and outer harbours, the boardwalk, 12-Mile Creek and a host of other outdoor and natural features have all become beloved places and spaces for recreation, relaxation and togetherness. We play an integral role in Oakville's liveability.

Our Focus

To work as co-creators in the ongoing evolution of Bronte, strengthen community involvement and create a strong voice of influence in:

• land use planning and implementation

• revitalization and renewal of streetscapes - placemaking

• citizen engagement and discussion

• healthy, sustainable neighbourhoods

• strong, sustainable economic growth

• social equity

• preservation and enhancement of our cultural heritage landscapes and natural assets (Bronte Beach, Bronte Bluffs, Twelve Mile Creek lands and marshes, etc.)

 

Bronte’s future will depend on decision-making processes that are transparent and accountable. We must ensure that planning reflects the needs, aspirations, and local knowledge of residents.​
